SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's basketball team (5-12, 2-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) is looking to snap a two-game losing streak as it travels to Norfolk, Va., to face Norfolk State University (0-17, 0-7 MEAC) Monday at 6 p.m. to continue a four-game roadstand.
 
Last season, the Lady Tigers defeated Norfolk State 56-54 in the only matchup of the season.
 
After 17 games, the Lady Tigers are shooting .360 (328-for-911) from the floor, including shooting .283 (67-for-237) from the 3-point line.  SSU is averaging 51.0 points per game, 35.4 rebounds per game and have recorded 164 assists, 159 steals and 64 blocks.  SSU is averaging 9.4 steals per game, which ranks third in the MEAC and 74th in the NCAA and is holding opponents to a .378 field goal percentage, which ranks second in the MEAC and 107th in the NCAA.
 
Junior guard Kenyata Hendrix leads the team with 11.4 points per game, which ranks 13th in the MEAC, and is averaging 19.5 points per game on 14-for-33 (.424) shooting, including 6-for-15 (.400) from the 3-point line over the last two games. 
 
The Carrollton, Ga., native recorded 12 points at Hampton to give her 724 career points, which ranks eighth in school history in the Division I era.  Hendrix has recorded 257 career made field goals and needs three made field goals to move into ninth place in school history. 
 
Junior center Tiyonda Davis leads the team with 6.9 rebounds per game and with 2.6 blocks per game, which ranks third in the MEAC and 28th in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.  Davis has recorded 44 blocks on the season, which ranks third in the MEAC and 31st in the NCAA.
 
Over the last four game, the Athens, Ga., native is averaging 10.8 points per game on 19-for-30 (.633) shooting, 8.8 rebounds per game, 3.5 blocks per game and 1.3 assists per game.
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers fell to Hampton 65-53 in Hampton, Va., Saturday to begin the four-game roadstand.  Hendrix and Davis each added 12 points and six rebounds, while junior forward Jeremica Edwards led the team with nine rebounds and added seven points. 
 
Norfolk State is looking for its first win of the season and fell to South Carolina State 60-52 Saturday.  The Spartans are led by Siobhan Beslow with 11.5 points per game and with 9.6 rebounds per game, while Kayla Roberts is averaging 10.2 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game and Yazmen Hannah is averaging 9.2 points per game.
 
The Lady Tigers continue their four-game roadstand against North Carolina A&T State on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C.  SSU fell to N.C. A&T 69-59 in Tiger Arena on Jan. 9 earlier this season.
