SSU Athletics Announces the Opening of the Tiger Marsh Zone

$5 Wristbands Needed To Access Traditional Tailgating Area

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Savannah State University director of athletics Sterling Steward, Jr. announces the opening  of the Tiger Marsh Zone, a new plan to enhance the fan's experience at Savannah State's Homecoming football game against North Carolina Central University and SSU's final home game against South Carolina State University.

The Tiger Marsh Zone will consist of the area surrounding Theodore A. Wright Stadium that has traditionally hosted vendors and tailgating. It will also feature the excitement of a Kid's Zone and Motorcycle and Car Show.

To access the Tiger Marsh Zone, patrons will need a zone wristband or an official game pass/credential.

Wristbands will be available to the public for purchase on game days and will cost $5 for anyone seven years of age or older. Children six and under are free. Savannah State students with valid student ID can access the Tiger Marsh Zone at no cost. The wristband will grant access to any patrons wishing to enter the Tiger Marsh Zone that have not purchased a game ticket. Persons that purchase a game ticket or season tickets will receive wristbands with their tickets. Patrons that purchase tailgating spots will receive four wristbands per spot.

Wristbands will be sold on game days from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Ted A. Stadium.

The additional revenue stream will be used to help fund summer school, athletic scholarships and fifth-year scholarships for graduating Savannah State student-athletes.
