Box Score TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Florida A&M out-scored Savannah State 41-29 in the second half as the Rattlers shot 63.6 percent from the field in a 64-57 victory over the Tigers.
 
Jermaine Ruttley scored 21 of his game-high 28 points in the second period for FAMU (2-27, 2-14).
 
Savannah State led 28-23 at intermission and increased their advantage to nine early in the second half.
 
The Rattler used a 18-6 spurt to grab a 43-40 lead with just under ten minutes left.
 
A layup by SSU's 
Brian Pearson tied the game at 52 with 3:45 remaining.
 
After a jumper by 
Khalen Pinkett tied the contest at 54 with 3:04 on the clock, FAMU made nine free throws to take a 63-54 advantage with 18 seconds left.
 
Demarcus Bryant made a 3-pointer for the Tigers with 15 seconds on the clock while Quentin Bastin made a free throw for FAMU with eight seconds remaining.
 
Pinkett led SSU with 11 points while 
Hikeem Champaigne added 10 points. Pearson contributed eight points and a game-high seven rebounds.
 
The Tigers shot 50 percent from the field in the opening twenty minutes but dipped to 38.2 percent in the second period.
SSU, who ends the regular season with a 9-21 overall mark and a 5-11 conference record, finished the game shooting a respectable 43.1 percent.
 
The crowd of 479 saw Savannah State out-rebound the Rattlers 34 to 28.
 
SSU, who played without senior guard 
Terel Hall, who was injured in the previous game, jumped out to a 14-9 lead.
 
The Tigers lead increased to six with just under eight minutes left but back to back 3-pointers from Ruttley and Jorge Rosa cut the SSU lead to 20-18 with 6:42 remaining.
 
Savannah State held FAMU to one field goal the rest of the half as they entered intermission with a 28-23 lead.
 
The Rattlers made 17 of 29 free throw attempts while SSU was 5 of 10 from the foul line.
 
FAMU finished the game shooting 51.2 percent from the field.
