SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's basketball team (2-6) returns to the court after a 11-day break and travels to Stillwater, Okla., to face Big 12 Conference opponent Oklahoma State University (9-1) Sunday at 3 p.m. ET in Gallagher-IBA Arena.  This will be the first meeting between the two ball clubs on the court.
 
After seven games, the Lady Tigers are shooting .331 (138-for-417) from the floor, including shooting .287 (31-for-108) from the 3-point line.  SSU is averaging 46.1 points per game, 34.8 rebounds per game and has recorded 71 assists, 70 steals and 32 blocks. 
 
Junior guard Kenyata Hendrix leads the Lady Tigers with 11.0 points per game, which ranks 10th in the MEAC, and has recorded a .330 (30-for-91) shooting from the floor, including shooting .300 (15-for-50) from the 3-point line.  Hendrix is shooting .722 (13-for-18) from the free throw line and is averaging 3.0 rebounds per game, 0.4 blocks per game and 0.6 steals per game.  The Carrollton, Ga., native ranks 10th in school history with 617 points in the Division I era and third in school history with 96 made 3-pointers.
 
Junior center Tiyonda Davis leads the team with 6.8 rebounds per game and 2.88 blocks per set, which ranks first in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and 15th in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.  Her 23 blocks on the season, ranks third in the MEAC and 47th in the NCAA.
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers fell to Ohio Valley Conference opponent Jacksonville State 50-35 in Jacksonville, Ala.  Sophomore forward Shanikwa Buie led the team with 10 points and added seven rebounds, while junior guard Taylor-Ashley Shaw led the team with eight rebounds.
 
Oklahoma State won its first eight games of the season, but suffered its only loss of the season, 68-46, at No. 20/19 South Florida.  The Cowgirls bounced back with a 74-55 win over Central Florida.
 
The Cowgirls are led by Brittney Martin with 23.6 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game, while Kaylee Jensen is averaging 16.2 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per game.  Mandy Coleman has added 7.5 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game.
 
The Lady Tigers finish their six-game roadstand in Florida as SSU opens MEAC play at Florida A&M in Tallahassee on Friday at 1 p.m. and faces Atlantic Sun opponent Jacksonville in Jacksonville on Saturday at 3 p.m.
