SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's basketball team (1-3) returns home to host in-state rival Georgia Southern University (0-3) at 6 p.m. in Tiger Arena.  The Lady Tigers will be receiving their 2015 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship rings during the halftime of the men's game, which is scheduled to start at 8 p.m.
 
This will be the first meeting between the two teams since the 2004-05 season when the Lady Tigers narrowing defeated the Eagles 77-72 in overtime in Tiger Arena. 
 
After four games, the Lady Tigers are shooting .370 (77-for-208) from the floor, including shooting .255 (12-for-47) from the 3-point line.  SSU is averaging 50.0 points per game, 35.5 rebounds per game and has recorded 39 assists, 43 steals and 16 blocks. 
 
Junior guard Kenyata Hendrix leads the Lady Tigers with 11.8 points per game and has recorded a .429 (18-for-42) shooting from the floor, including shooting .286 (6-for-21) from the 3-point line.  The Carrollton, Ga., native has recorded a total 577 career points and needs eight points to move into the top-10 in school history in the Division I era.
 
Junior center Tiyonda Davis recorded her 500th career rebound at Mississippi State last Sunday.  The Athens, Ga., native has recorded 504 career rebounds and needs 16 rebounds to place fourth in school history in the Division I era.
 
The last time out, the Lady Tigers fell to No. 8 Mississippi State 92-25 on Sunday in Starkville, Miss.  Junior guard Chelsea Frazier led SSU with eight points in her first game this season, while Davis led the team with seven rebounds and four blocks.
 
Georgia Southern has lost all three games this season against Lipscomb (66-55), Mercer (62-50) and Georgia (75-28).  The Eagles are shooting .310 (53-for-171), including .253 (20-for-79) beyond the 3-point line and is averaging 44.3 points per game and 30.0 rebounds per game.
 
The Eagles are led by Alexis Sams with 7.3 points per game and Patrice Bulter with 7.0 poitns per game.  Sierra Kirkland leads the team with 4.7 rebounds per game, while Sierra Butler has added 4.3 rebounds per game and 5.7 points per game.
 
The Lady Tigers hit the road again for a six-game roadstand starting with Alabama State on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET in Montgomery, Ala.
