FULL RESULTS
ATLANTA, Ga. – The Savannah State men's and women's track and field teams closed out the 2014 outdoor season at the Georgia Tech Invitational this weekend.

The Tigers competed in only a few events in their final meet in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Regional Preliminary Championship on May 29.

One of the last of the SSU teams looking to qualify for the NCAA Regionals was the relay team of Kenshard Hamilton, Justin Leggett, Cameron Hall and Antwuan Poole. The Tigers ran a 40.83 in the 4x100 meter relay for a third place finish at Georgia Tech.

In the 100m dash, Hamilton finished 18th with a time of 10.60. Lemaar Shakir ran a 52.93 in the 400m hurdles for a 13th place finish.

For the Lady Tigers, Asia Stinson qualified in the preliminaries with a time of 11.68. She ran an 11.92 to finish 7th in the final race. Stinson set the school record for the event (11.60) in this year's Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Outdoor Championship.

The top 48 student-athletes in the individual competitions and the top 24 relay teams will be accepted into the NCAA Regionals (divided by east and west sites). The final qualification list will be announced on Thursday, May 22, 2014.

The Savannah State track and field program has qualified members for the NCAA Regionals every year since the school elevated to NCAA Division I (2002-03).
