THE GAME:
Savannah State made history again on Thursday. SSU downed Florida A&M 84-75 to advance to the semifinals of the 2014 MEAC tournament. They are the first Savannah State basketball team to do so.

The Lady Tigers have a tough road to the finals. They have the misfortune of facing the No. 1 seeded Hampton Lady Pirates, who are looking to also make history with a five-peat.

In SSU and Hampton's last meeting, the Lady Pirates cruised to a 70-46 victory. It was the Lady Tigers first loss in Tiger Arena this season. This is only the fourth meeting of the teams in recorded history. Hampton leads the series 3-0.

The Lady Tigers are on their longest winning streak of the season, four games. The 19-13 season is the best in the program's Division I era (since 2002-03).

In the bottom of the MEAC bracket, North Carolina A&T State and Coppin State will play each other the second game on Friday. The winners on Friday will play each other for the MEAC crown on Saturday.
