Kalu was named to the third team All-MEAC prior to Monday's games.

In their third year of competition within the MEAC, the Lady Tigers will move to the quarterfinals for the first year. SSU is slated to take on Florida A&M on Thursday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m.

SSU and Florida A&M spilt their two regular season games this season. The Lady Tigers beat the Rattlers 80-68 in Tiger Arena, but fell in Tallahassee 72-78 in their last meeting.

The winner of SSU and FAMU's match on Thursday will play the winner of Wednesday's Hampton and Howard game. Hampton won the regular season title with unblemished 16-0 conference record. The Lady Pirates are looking to four-peat in the 2014 tournament.
