Â
SSU basketball coach
Horace Broadnax thinks that playing these type of games will help his young squad later this season when they begin conference play.
Â
"The venue in itself is great for my guys. I've got four freshman, four sophomores and one senior, and in our league, we're not going to have this type of environment and pressure. I want these guys to try to work under pressure. We did some things good, but this is Indiana. I wanted the guys to try to work hard and work on their conditioning. You could see Muhammad there at the end starting to get tired, but he didn't roll over and die. I just want these guys to get better. We just have to keep working and try to put a 40-minute game together against these type of guys."
Â
Indiana, who out-rebounded SSU 42 to 24, had four players in double figures.
Â
James Blackmon and Kevin Ferrell each had 18 points for the Hoosiers (7-1).
Â
Indiana shot 57.4 percent from the floor and made 23 of their 25 free throw attempts.
