THE GAME:
Savannah State enters their fifth Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) game off a thrilling win over Bethune-Cookman this past Saturday.
The Lady Tigers will look to remain undefeated at home. They have garnered six of their 10 wins this season in Tiger Arena. With a 10-8 overall record and a 3-1 conference record, SSU has already surpassed last year's overall and conference win record (7-23, 2-14).
Today's game is the 19th match-up between the teams. Florida A&M leads the overall series 17-1. SSU's only win against the Lady Rattlers came with Coach Cedric Baker at the helm. Teams last met on February 23, 2013. FAMU beat the Lady Tigers in Tallahassee, Florida 67-59.
Senior Ezinne Kalu leads the Lady Tigers, averaging 15.7 points per game. Fellow senior Jasmine Kirkland is averaging 9.1 points per outing, while Jasmine Norman is putting up 8.1 points per game and freshman Kenyata Hendrix is averaging 7.5 points. Tiyonda Davis leads the team in rebounds with 136 overall, averaging 7.6 per game.
