THE GAME:
Savannah State returns to Tiger Arena after a two-game trip to the Northeast. SSU went 1-1 on the road, garnering the program's first win over Howard and falling to Coppin State.
The Lady Tigers will try and stay undefeated in Tiger Arena against Cookman. They have earned five of their nine wins in Tiger Arena this season.
SSU is knee deep into the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schedule. They are 2-1 so far in conference play, an improvement over last year's conference record at this point of the season.
The Lady Tigers have garnered big wins for the program this season. They beat first time opponents Texas at San Antonio and Troy, as well as MEAC opponent Howard.
Coach Cedric Baker, in his 11th year, earned his 100th Division I and 100th SSU win when the team set a Division I record, beating Trinity Baptist 106-33 in Tiger Arena. Their last home game.
Senior Ezinne Kalu is leading the team, averaging 15.6 points per game. Jasmine Kirkland is averaging 9.2 points per game. Freshman Tiyonda Davis leads the team in rebounds, averaging 7.5 per game.
