SSU Cheerleaders Head To MEAC Tournament

SAVANNAH, Ga. - On Sunday, March 10, the Savannah State Cheerleading squad will open the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) basketball tournament with the annual MEAC Cheerleading Championship at Echols Hall on the campus of Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia.

The Lady Tigers have appeared in two competitions already this year. SSU won the Jam-bash Series Elite Division I Coed Collegiate Cheer category national championship in Nashville, Tennessee in early February.

Savannah State made school history in late February with the first ever appearance at the Cheersport Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia.

Competition in Norfolk begins at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.  In 2012, Morgan State won the overall championship, their second consecutive title.
