CLINTON, S.C. – In their second match of the 2013 campaign, the Savannah State women's tennis team fell to Presbyterian College 0-7 in Clinton, South Carolina Tuesday evening.
In the number one slot for SSU,
Esmira Gheisary fell to Greer Ransom in straight sets, 0-6 and 1-6.
Sandra Kristjansdottir fell to Presbyterian's Patricia Alves 2-6 and 4-6 in the second position.
SSU junior
Andrea Pavlovic fell to Caroline DeLoach in the number three position, 0-6 and 1-6. Presbyterian's Lindsay Krause downed
Nicole Ashiedu 6-2 and 6-1 in the fourth court.
Rounding out the singles match,
Davita Washington fell to Lucia Leahy, 0-6 and 0-6, while SSU freshman
Tiffany Williams dropped the sixth court to Haley Elliott 1-6 and 0-6.
In doubles action, the Lady Tiger team of Kristjansdottir and Ashiedu fell to Ransom and Krause in the first position, 6-8.
The team of Gheisary and Pavlovic fell to Presbyterian's Alves and Elliott, 4-8 in the second court. In the third doubles game, SSU's Washington and Williams fell to DeLoach and Stanford, 0-8.
The Lady Tigers (1-1) return to the courts February 9 against Coastal Carolina in Conway, South Carolina. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
