THE GAME:
Savannah State enters Sunday's nonconference match up with Alabama State off a 72-63 victory over Charleston Southern this past Thursday.
The Lady Tigers freshman Tiyonda Davis recorded her second double-double (10pts-10rbs) of the season in the win, while senior Ezinne Kalu led the team with 19 points.  It was the third straight game in which the Lady Tigers have scored at least 70 points.
The last meeting of SSU and Alabama State was on December 18, 2012. SSU beat the Lady Hornets 60-48 in Tiger Arena. Today's game is the 13th meeting of the teams, since SSU elevated to Division I in the 2001-02 season. Alabama State holds a 7-5 series advantage. SSU head coach Cedric Baker is 5-6 against the Lady Hornets.
SSU is led by Kalu. The senior from New Jersey is averaging 15.3 points per game with 138 overall points. Jasmine Norman, Kenyata Hendrix, Bria Dorsey, and Jasmine Kirkland are each averaging over seven points per game. Davis leads in rebounds with 77.
