THE GAME:
Savannah State plays the fifth game of a season-long 10-game road stretch Friday against Seton Hall. This will be the Lady Tigers first appearance in the Seton Hall Thanksgiving Classic and the first meeting of the programs.
SSU is slated to play either Fresno State or Liberty University on Saturday, November 30 to close out the tournament. They have not faced either program in school history.
The Lady Tigers enter the Thanksgiving Classic off back-to-back losses. They fell to Northwestern State, 56-77, and SEC opponent Mississippi State, 63-81. The loss to
MSU was the first loss in which SSU had two players in double figures.
Senior Ezinne Kalu leads the team, averaging 13.7 points per game with 82 points overall. Freshman Kenyata Hendrix, who has garnered a starting role, has 65 points, a
10.8 average. Junior Jasmine Norman has 42 points, averaging 7.0 per game. Freshman
Tiyonda Davis leads the team in rebounds with 40, averaging 6.7 per outing.
The team is shooting at a 36.8 percent clip from the floor and 54.7 percent from the
charity strip. Kalu leads from the free-throw line, hitting 23-of-42 attempts this year.
