THE GAME:
Savannah State opened the 2013-14 season with a huge win over Columbia College, beating the Koalas 88-41 in Tiger Arena on November 8.
The Lady Tigers haven't played Charleston Southern since the 2009-10 season. They lost twice to the Lady Bucs' that season.
In their last match up, CSU beat SSU 69-36 in Tiger Arena. SSU managed only 12 points in the first half, while the Lady Bucs' skated to an overwhelming victory with 35 points in the second half.
After a single game, SSU is led by newcomer Bria Dorsey. She scored 16 points in the season opener, leading the team, and shot 54.5 percent from the field. Returner Ezinne Kalu and newcomer Kenyata Hendrix each added 13 points. Newcomer Tiyonda Davis led the team in rebounds with 7.
The Lady Bucs' are led this season by Erin Bratcher, who is averaging 10.0 points per game with 20 overall. The team is shooting at a .341 clip from the floor. Tatum Jarvis has 19 points and is averaging 9.5 a game. In their only loss, CSU was routed by South Carolina, 29-99. They beat Southern Wesleyan 85-55 in their home opener last week.
