Volleyball Drops Final Nonconference Game

SAVANNAH, Ga. – In the opening match of a four-game home stretch, Savannah State volleyball fell in their final nonconference match to Jacksonville University in three sets inside Willcox-Wiley Gymnasium Tuesday night.
SSU fell in three sets, 14-25, 16-25 and 16-25.

Sophomore Justice Dilworth led the Lady Tigers with nine kills and a .438 hitting percentage. Christian Lyle added eight kills to the Lady Tigers total. Bryana Gadis and Caitlynn Masoe each had six digs to lead SSU on defense. SSU falls to 0-27 on the season.

The Dolphins were led by a balanced attack from Kylie Jacob and Emily Laskelle who each had six kills, while Lauren Homrich and Alyssa Robertson each had five kills. The team had a .286 overall hitting percentage and improved their record to 21-3 overall and 8-3 on the road.

SSU closes out the home stand and the season with three straight Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) games. They face South Carolina State on Sunday, November 3 at 1 p.m.  Next weekend they host North Carolina A&T State on November 8 at 5 p.m., and close out the season on November 10 against North Carolina Central at 1 p.m.
