ALBANY, Ga.- On Saturday the Lady Tigers played their last match of the SIAC Crossover. They lost to both Spring Hill and Miles here in Albany at the Jones Brothers HPER Arena.

They were outmatched by Spring Hill losing in three sets. They would go on to beat Miles in the first set but would drop the next three. They now sit at 2-9 on the season and 1-3 in SIAC play.

Spring Hill came out and played a good match against the Lady Tigers winning 25-10 25-16 25-19.

The Badgers shot a .375 in this match with 40 kills. Savannah State had 27 kills and shot a .130. They also led in aces by a count of 12-3. Both teams ended with 27 digs.

Savannah State only had 3 kills in the first set but began to pick up as the match went on. They had 12 kills in the second and third set. They also shot a .321 in the third set with only 3 attack errors on 28 attacks.

Harmony Flagg and Faith Woods both had 7 kills for the Lady Tigers. Nyalah Smith had 6 kills as well. Makendra Cassell had the most blocks with 4. Flagg and Smith had 2 each.

Amiyah Walker had 23 assists and Kira Raby led with 8 digs. Hope White had 6 digs as well.

The Lady Tigers took to the court again on Saturday to take on Miles.

SSU took the first set by a score of 24-23. Miles would come back and take the next three sets by a score of 25-16 25-12 24-14.

Savannah State had 39 kills 34 assists 5 aces and 39 digs. Miles had 45 kills and shot a .302. SSU shot a .114.

Nyalah Smith led the team with 10 kills. Anaya Yates had 8 kills and Faith Woods had 7. Jasbrielle Veal had 3 of the teams 5 aces.

Amiyah Walker had another great game leading the team with 30 assists and 10 digs. Hope White also had 10 digs and Mya McCall had 5.

That brings our record to 1-3 after the SIAC crossover. We started off our trip Friday with a loss to Kentucky State. We then earned our first win of the season over Central State in four sets.

The Lady Tigers will continue their road trip to Jacksonville FL on Tuesday Sept 22 to take on Edward Waters and then travel to Clark Atlanta on Thursday Sept 24.
