Box Score SAVANNAH, Ga.- North Carolina Central held Savannah State scoreless in the second half as the Eagles spoiled SSU's Homecoming game with a 21-10 victory over the Tigers.

The festive crowd of 5,450 at T. A. Wright Stadium saw the Tigers take a 3-0 lead on their first possession after a 22-yard field goal by
John Barron with 10:34 left to go in the first quarter.

Antonio Bostick completed a 41-yard pass play to
Jeremy Moore on the first play of the nine-play, 68-yard drive. It was the first points scored by SSU in the first quarter this season.

NCCU (4-4, 2-2) drove to the Savannah State 25 on their next possession but the Tigers
Justin Dixon intercepted a pass at the 10 yard line and returned in 19 yards to the SSU 19.

The Tigers got as far as the Central 31 but on fourth and five, Bostick's pass to
Cantrell Frazier only netted one yard and SSU had to turn the ball over on downs.

The Eagles took over and marched 70 yards for a score as quarterback Malcolm Bell ran for a six-yard touchdown with 21 seconds left in the opening quarter. Oleg Parent kicked the extra points and NCCU held a 7-3 edge.

Savannah State retook the lead early in the second quarter, using a 11-play, 75-yard drive that took 4:07 off the clock.

Bostick hit Edward Lackey for a three-yard touchdown with 11:24 left in the first half. Barron made the extra point for a 10-7 lead. The key play on the drive was a 36-yard reception by Arshon Spaulding on a third and ten.

Central made it as far as the Tigers 11 on their next possession but a penalty pushed them back to the SSU 25 which resulted in parent missing a 42-yard field goal attempt.

Late in the half, NCCU went ahead 14-10 as Adrian Wilkins returned a
Preston McCarthy punt 73 yards for a touchdown. After the extra point by parent, the Eagles led by four with 1:32 on the clock.

SSU's offense went cold in the second half. The Tigers could only get to the Central 39 in the third quarter and could not get past the Eagles 36 late in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, North Carolina Central scored a touchdown in the third quarter and a field goal in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring.

In the third quarter, Bell threw a 19 yard touchdown to Wilkins and in the fourth quarter, Parent kicked a 25-yard field goal with 2:43Â remaining.

Alfred Ansely had a interception for SSU in the third quarter.
The Tigers, who lost their sixth straight, rolled up 382 yards of offense. SSU (1-8, 0-5) put together their best rushing effort of the season with 163 yards.

Bostick threw for 219 yards and a touchdown for SSU with running for 90 yards. Lackey caught seven passes for 54 yards and a score. Defensively,
Gregory Brown was in on 11 tackles.

Central, who snapped a two-game losing skid, had 411 yards of offense. Andre Clarke ran for 140 yards while Bell threw for 174 and a touchdown and Wilkins caught nine balls for 105 yards and a touchdown. Tazmon Foster had 11 tackles for the defense.
