STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – After two days of competition, the Savannah State women's golf team placed fifth in the 18th annual Women's Collegiate Golf Classic/Championship (WCGC) in Stone Mountain, Georgia Sunday, finishing with an overall team score of 814 (415, 399). The event wrapped up the 2012 season for the Lady Tigers.
In individual scoring, Savannah State's
Jocelyn Williams finished 23
rd with a two day total of 191 (97, 94).
Michelle Gifford finished 25
th with a two day total of 199 (98, 101), followed by teammate
Ebony Day (203),
Courtney Newton (221), and
Bianca Anderson (223).
The annual event is hosted by the Women in Golf Foundation, Inc. and celebrates African American women in golf.
