Lady Tigers tip-off with Talladega College, Thursday, 7 p.m.

Savannah State University women's basketball team will host Talladega College, Thursday, January 26 at Tiger Arena in a non-conference matchup. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

Thursday will be “Mother-Daughter” night. All mother, daughter couples get in for free. Special guest, Salvation Army recreation center.

The Lady Tigers are coming off, statistically, their best game of the season. The Lady Tigers downed South Carolina State 76-65. Savannah State shot at a season best 56 percent clip from the floor, scoring a season high 76 points.

Five players finished in double digits, a first for the season. Senior forward Ezinne Kalu led the team with 23 points in the game against South Carolina State, and leads the team with an average of 18.6 points a game. Junior forward Rikiah Gatlin had her best game scoring 10 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.

Savannah State currently has a 7-11 overall record and 2-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference record.
