CINCINNATI, Oh- Former Savannah State running back Jamie Beard finished second in the American Open Weightlifting Championships on December 12, 2010.

Beard, who trains with Team Savannah, competed in the men's 105kg.

The Baxley, Georgia native had a snatch 140kg and a clean & jerk of 170kg for an overall score of 310kg.
Garrett Walters was the overall winner in the men's 105kg with a score of 314kg.
