Rams defeats Lady Tigers

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Winston-Salem State improved to 9-16 with a double-header sweep of Savannah State at South Park Field.

The Rams won the opener 6-0 and completed the sweep with a 8-0 victory in game two.

K. Woodbury hit a three-run home run in the opener for WSSU while A. Shore pitched a four-hitter and struck out six.

Krystle Frost had two hits for Savannah State and also took the loss on the mound as she gave up six hits and struck out four batters. Shamyra Adams had a triple for SSU, who left six runners on base.

In game two, L. Hollis had three hits and drove in a pair of runs while E. Taylor struck out seven batters for the Rams.

Tiffany Taylor had two hits for Savannah State (14-28). Rachel West took the loss, giving up 11 hits while striking out four.
