Jyles Smith was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week and teammate
Jeremiah Hill earned Rookie of the Week honors.
Smith (F, 6-9, 250, Sr., Fairburn, Ga.) collected 18 total points with 33 rebounds, nine blocks and two steals in a pair of conference wins against Maryland E. Shore and Coppin State. Smith recorded a double-double of 14 points and a career-high 20 rebounds, shooting perfectly from the field (6-of-6), in the victory over CSU. He also hauled down 13 boards, with six blocks and two steals against UMES.Â
Hill (G, 6-1, 175, Fr., Richmond Hill, Ga.) scored 33 points in back-to-back wins last week. Against Maryland Eastern Shore, he scored a career-high 17 points, hitting 50-percent from long-rang (3-of-6), and collected two rebounds. He also hit 6-of-8 from the field, for 16 points, with two rebounds and one block in the win over Coppin State.
