SAVANNAH, Ga.-With basketball season ending last week, the focus for the remainder of the SSU Athletics season fully shifts to our Spring Sports. On tap for this week are four home contests for baseball, the men's & women's golf squads host their annual Spring Invitational, the women's tennis squad hosts an important SIAC match, softball heads to Alabama for the SIAC Softball Crossover, and the track & field teams are back at home for another meet. We'll cover it all in this week's edition of "This Week In Tiger Athletics".

Men's & Women's Golf
Head Coach Christopher Miller and the Savannah State men's & women's golf teams host the 2026 edition of the Savannah State Spring Invitational. The two-day event begins on Monday, March 9th at Crosswinds Golf Club.

Softball
After coming up just short in their weekend series at Albany State, the Savannah State softball squad turns their attention to the SIAC Softball Crossover. The Orange & Blue will open the action on Tuesday, March 10th against Spring Hill and Tuskegee, Lane & Kentucky State on Wednesday, March 11th, and will conclude with LeMoyne-Owen and Miles on Thursday, March 12th. All games will take place at Bill Noble Park in Gardendale, Alabama/

Baseball
The Tigers return to the friendly confines of Tiger Field for four contests this week. Savannah State will have a mid-week, non-conference contest against Erskine College on Tuesday, March 10th at 2pm, then will return to SIAC play where they will welcome Benedict for a three-game series. The series will begin on Saturday, March 14th with a doubleheader starting at 12:00pm and will wrap up on Sunday, March 15th at 12:00pm. All games will be shown live on the Savannah State Sports Network.
