Savannah State Wraps Up Play At SIAC Fall Tennis Open

ATLANTA, Ga.– The Savannah State University women's tennis team wrapped up its participation in the 2026 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Fall Tennis Open on Friday at the South Fulton Tennis Center, highlighted by a convincing straight-set victory from Madeleine Nolan.

The Lady Tigers competed in the final day of the three-day tournament, which featured student-athletes from across the conference. Savannah State finished Friday's action with one singles victory in six completed matches, while one additional contest ended in a withdrawal.

Nolan provided the highlight of the day for Savannah State, turning in a dominant performance against Benedict College's Miniyah Wynn. Nolan controlled the match from the opening serve, cruising to a 6-0 victory in the first set before closing out the contest with a 6-2 decision in the second set.

The straight-set victory marked Savannah State's lone win during Friday's competition, with Nolan surrendering just two games throughout the match.

Katelynn Welch also turned in a competitive performance for the Lady Tigers in her matchup against Edward Waters University's Adassah Prevost. After dropping the opening set 6-3, Welch battled back to claim the second set 6-2, forcing a deciding 10-point match tiebreak. Prevost ultimately edged Welch 10-7 to secure the victory.

In other singles action, Nyla Warner faced Albany State University's Brooklyn Bowen, falling 6-1, 6-1, while Jaeda Cooper dropped a 6-2, 6-3 decision to Edward Waters' Alexis Dunlap.

Amaia Connor also squared off against Edward Waters, falling to Isabella Cardenas by scores of 6-0, 6-1.

Simone Reese competed against Clark Atlanta University's Joiya Middlebrooks, who earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory.

Savannah State's Danielle Hood was also scheduled to compete against Clark Atlanta's Camryn Pride, but the match was recorded as a Savannah State withdrawal.
