The schedule features 27 games of which a dozen will be inside the friendly confines of Tiger Arena.

SSU will play conference opponents in home-and-home games during the season.

The Tigers, who won their second SIAC Tournament title in four years, will embark on the new season with their first five games away from home.

Savannah State will open the year with Sunshine State Conference opponents St. Leo (November14) and Florida Southern (Nov. 15) before staring conference play at LeMoyne-Owen (Nov. 20), Lane (Nov. 22) and Fort Valley State (Nov. 29).

SSU will begin the home portion of their schedule against Central State (December 4) and Kentucky State (Dec. 6) followed by trips to Albany State (Dec. 11) and Spring Hill (Dec. 13).

The Tigers will close out December with home tilts with Tuskegee (Dec. 18) and Miles (Dec. 20) and will begin the 2026 portion of their schedule with a trip to Morehouse (January 3).

From Morehouse, SSU play six of their next seven games at Tiger Arena, starting with home games with Fort Valley State (Jan. 8) and Clark Atlanta (Jan. 10).

Following a trip to Benedict (Jan. 14), Savannah State will play host to Edward Waters (Jan. 17), Allen (Jan. 19), LeMoyne-Owen (Jan. 22) and Lane (Jan. 24).

The Tigers will end January on the road at Central State (Jan. 29) and Kentucky State (Jan. 31) and will begin February with their last two home games of the season facing Albany State (Feb. 5) and Spring Hill (Feb. 7).

Savannah State will end the regular season with a four-game road stretch at Tuskegee (Feb. 12), Miles (Feb. 14), Edward Waters (Feb. 21) and Allen (Feb. 23).

SSU finished last season with a 18-12 overall record and a 12-9 mark in the SIAC.

On January 6, 2025, Clevan Thompson took over the team as interim head coach after the mid-season retirement of head coach Horace Broadnax when they were 5-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play and guided them to 13 wins. On June 6, 2025, Thompson had the interim tag removed and was named 12th head coach in the history of the program. A 2003 graduate of Savannah State, Thompson is the first alumnus to take over as the Tigers head coach since Jack Grant, who led the program during the 2000-02 seasons.
