MOBILE, Ala.- Savannah State wrapped up the second day of matches in the SIAC Round Up on Thursday at the Mobile Tennis Center, following matches with Tuskegee and Edward Waters.
Savannah State lost to Tuskegee 7-0 and then dropped a 5-2 decision to Edward Waters to fall to 0-13 overall and 0-12 in conference matches.
In the match with Tuskegee,
Yanna Cunningham,
Nyla Warner and Amaia Conner lost their singles matches 6-0, 6-0 while
Madeleine Anne Nolan (4-0, retired),
Katelynn Welch (5-0, retired) and
Trinitee Henry (6-1, 6-2) lost as well.
The team of Warner/Welch lost their doubles match 6-4 while Nolan/Henry lost 6-2 and Conner/Cunningham lost 6-0.
SSU won two singles and one doubles match against Edward Waters.
Conner won her singles match 6-3, 6-3 and Welch won her match 4-6, 6-3, 10-8. The doubles team of Nolan/Cunningham won their match 6-3.
In singles play, Warner lost 6-1, 6-0 while Nolan lost 6-3, 0-6, 4-10. Henry lost her match 6-0, 6-1 and Cunningham lost her match 6-1, 6-1.
Warner/Welch lost their doubles match 6-0 and Conner/Henry lost their match 6-1.
Savannah State will close the Round Up on Friday against Albany State at 9 a.m. and Spring Hill at 1 p.m.
