Atlanta, Georgia-The Savannah State baseball squad has been on a tear as the midway point of the 2025 season is rapidly approaching. The Tigers currently sit at 11-5 overall, 10-2 in SIAC play, and are winners of their last six consecutive games, including a three-game road sweep of Albany State in their last action.
One of the biggest catalysts of the Tigers' success over their winning streak has been the play of senior outfielder
Kendal Spencer, who on Tuesday afternoon was named the SIAC Baseball Player of the Week. The Tampa, Florida native finished a combined 8-for-14 (.571) with a double and a triple while collecting seven RBIs during last weekend's series at Albany State. Spencer is third in the conference in batting so far this season, batting .483 with 28 hits, 20 runs scored, 30 RBIs, and two homeruns.
