SAVANNAH, Ga.- Savannah State opened their 2025 season with a 7-0 home loss to Brenau at the SSU Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon.
Although the weather was about 78 degrees, the Lady Tigers were at a disadvantage with Brenau having already played three matches.
Madeleine Nolan lost her number one singles match 6-3, 6-1 to Shaloom Delgado Forero and Nyla Warner fell in her number two singles match 6-0, 6-1 to Kristina Radovic .
In the number three singles, Katelynn Welch lost 6-0, 6-0 to Nadja Noriega-Alcala while in the number four and five matches, Amaia Conner and Trinitee Henry fell in their matches by scores of 6-4, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-3 to Manuela Giraldo and Cady Geddings respectively.
Nolan/Warner lost their doubles match 6-4 and Welch/Conner dropped their doubles match 6-1.
The Lady Tigers will travel to Rome, Georgia for the SIAC Round Up on March 5-7 where they will face conference foes Spring Hill, Albany State, Edward Waters, Tuskegee, Clark Atlanta and Benedict in a three-day span.
