ATLANTA, Ga.- On the same day as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference named
Darrian Bell to the all conference football team, the linebacker from Danville, Kentucky was also named the SIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in Savannah State's game against Benedict on November 8, 2025.
In the game with Benedict, the 6-foot-2 and 230-pound graduate student had a game-high 13 tackles (9 solo). He also had two tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry.
Bell, who has been invited to play in the 2026 Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl, finished the season with a team-high 93 tackles (68 solo).
