Darrian Bell has been selected as the SIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
The Danville, Kentucky native etched his name in the SSU football record books, setting a new school single-game record with 23 total tackles, including 19 solos, 2.0 tackles for loss, and had the game clinching fumble recovery in overtime, sealing a 23-23 overtime win.Â
The award for Bell is his second for the week as it was announced on Monday that he was selected as the BOXTOROW National HBCU Defensive Player of the Week.
Bell and the Tigers will return to the gridiron on Saturday afternoon to battle conference and in-state foe Fort Valley State in the Inaugural Good Trouble Heritage Classic in Augusta, GA at 3:00pm.
