ALBANY, Ga.- The Savannah State volleyball team won three games at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Crossover which was held September 20-21 at Albany State.

The Lady Tigers had wins over Kentucky State and LeMoyne-Owen on Sept. 20. The following day, SSU defeated Lane before dropping their final match to Tuskegee.

Scores in the 3-2 victory over Kentucky State were 24-26, 21-25, 25-19, 25-11 and 15-10.

Individual leaders for SSU were
Tiana Curry (14 kills),
Saniaa Dickey (5 aces),
Jasmine Nettles (5 blocks),Â
Amiyah Walker (34 assist) and
Kloe Ludy (22 digs).

In Savannah State's 25-11, 25-16, 25-13 win over LeMoyne-Owen,
Savannah Everett had 14 kills, Walker had five aces, one block and 18 assists and Ludy added 16 digs. Ayanna Klabier-Norris, a 6-foot-1 freshman, also had a block.

SSU had to play five sets to beat Lane. The Lady Tigers lost the opening set 24-26 but bounced back to win the next two by scores of 25-14 and 25-11. The Dragons tied the match at 2-2 with a 27-25 win in the fourth set while Savannah State won the match with a 15-9 victory in the fifth set.

Nettles had 20 kills, Walker had 46 assists and 20 digs while 6-foot sophomore
Mina Ezikpe had four blocks. Nettles, Curry and Dickey all had one ace.

Savannah State lost all three sets to Tuskegee (24-26, 25-27, 18-25) in their final match of the Crossover.

Category leaders for the Lady Tigers were Everett (15 kills), Dickey (3 aces), Walker (29 assists) and Nettles (16 digs). Ezikpe and Walker both had one block.

Savannah State (4-3, 3-1 SIAC) will travel to Clark Atlanta on Sept. 27 for a 6 p.m. match.
