Box Score 3 MEMPHIS, Tenn.- Having opened the SIAC Crossover II with a pair of losses, Savannah State finished strong with a 3-0 victory over Central State.
The matches were played at the Bruce Hall/Johnson Gymnasium on October 11-12,2024.
Savannah State opened play on Oct. 11 with a 0-3 setback to Spring Hill by scores of 13-25, 20-25, 16-25.
Amiyah Walker had a double-double for Savannah State with 14 assists and 14 digs.
Savannah Everett finished with 14 kills,
Tiana Curry had 12 assists and one ace and
Kloe Ludy had 20 digs.
Mina Ezikpe and Aaliyah Sanders both blocked two shots.
Later in the day, the Lady Tigers dropped a hard fought match with Miles with scores of 25-19, 21-25, 26-24, 21-25, 12-15.
Curry ended the match with a triple-double with 13 kills, 23 assists and 12 digs while
Jasmine Nettles (19 kills and 17 digs) and Walker (38 assists and 24 digs) both had a double-double.
Everett contributed 23 kills, Walker had three aces, Ludy had 32 digs,
Saniaa Dickey had 12 digs while Nettles, Ezikpe and
Ayanna Klaiber-Norris all had two blocks apiece.
In the win over Central State, the Lady Tigers won by scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-17 as Curry had a double-double with 16 assists and 10 digs to go with her three kills, two blocks and one ace.
Everett had 12 kills and four digs, Walker had six kills, 10 assists and seven digs, Ludy had two assists, three aces and 15 digs, Ezikpe had six blocks and two kills. Nettles ended the match with eight kills, eight digs, two aces and two blocks, Dickey added one assist, four aces and a pair of digs while Klaiber-Norris finished with one kill, one ace and one dig.
Savannah State (5-5, 4-3 SIAC) will travel to Edward Waters on October 15.
