ATLANTA, Ga.- The Savannah State volleyball team began their three-match road swing with a 3-2 win over Clark Atlanta on October 29, 2024 at Epps Gymnasium.

The win improved the Lady Tigers to 9-7 overall and 8-5 in SIAC play.

Savannah State edged CAU 29-27 in the first set but lost the second set 18-25. Clark Atlanta also claimed the third set, 19-25 but the Lady Tigers captured the fourth set 25-20 to tie the match at 2-2. In the fifth and deciding set, SSU jumped out to a 5-0 and then added another 5-0 run to go ahead 11-3. After Clark Atlanta pulled within 13-7, Savannah State finished the contest with a kill by
Amiyah Walker and a service ace to earn the win.

Clark Atlanta had more kills than SSU but the Panthers made more errors.

Tiana Curry just missed a triple double for SSU, finishing the match with 18 assists, 11 digs, nine kills, one ace and one block.
Â
Jasmine Nettles had 21 digs and 14 kills while Walker added 25 assists and 11 digs.
Â
Savannah Everett had 14 kills and three blocks,
Aaliyah Saunders finished with six blocks and six kills,
Ayanna Klaiber-Norris had five blocks and three kills and
Kloe Ludy chipped in 22 digs.

SSU will travel to Fort Valley State on November 1 for a 6 p.m. match.
