Seven Track & Field Tigers Named All-SIAC

ATLANTA, Ga.– Seven Savannah State track and field stars were named to the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) All-Conference First and Second Teams, according to a press release from the conference office Thursday afternoon.

The post-season accolades are not voted on like in other conference-sponsored sports. The all-conference track and field teams are determined by regular season performances solely.

Kayla Chance, one of the most decorated SSU long-distance runners of all-time, nabbed all-conference marks in three events. Chance is a two-time SIAC Cross Country Champion and holds five school records in long-distance events.

The senior was named to the All-SIAC First Team in the 1500 meter event after running a 4:45.55 at the Alice Coachman Invite on April 8, and in the 3000 Steeplechase following a mark of 12:17.46 at the Berry Field Day Invite on April 15.
