Women's Golf Open Spring Season With Two Dual Match Wins

SAVANNAH, Ga.– Savannah State women's golf opened the spring season with a two dual matches against Edward Waters this past week.
 
The Lady Tigers won both the Lady Tiger Dual Invite on Feb. 6 and the Savannah State Dual Classic on Feb. 7 in match play.
 
Savannah State won all five spots in the Lady Tiger Dual Invite. Ja'Davia McCallum beat Leiahnni Smith 6-4. Miracle Goolsby beat Arianna Aschenbrenner 9-8.
 
Newcomer Saika Charles beat Christina Nuss 9-8. Angela Dodson beat Jaianna Lewis-Kearse 9-8 and Kaila Leonard beat Michela McDougal by one in the final spot.
 
The next day, in the same pairs, SSU again cleaned up. McCallum won 6-5, Goolsby won 9-8, Charles won 8-7, Dodson won 9-8 and Leonard again finished 1 up in the final spot.
 
The Lady Tigers continue the spring season Feb. 19-Feb. 20 at the Alabama State Spring Invitational in Montgomery, Alabama.
