Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Tigers Fall To Clark Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. – Savannah State men's basketball dropped a big Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) game to Clark Atlanta on Friday.

Trailing by double-digits late in the game, Savannah State managed a small run getting close to Clark Atlanta's advantage.

Marcus Scott opened the run up with a layup, then Trey DeLoach added his own. Freshman Ayjay Plain tacked on a jumper and Daryl Richardson hit two good free-throws to cut Clark's lead to 54-50 with 1:12 to play.

A back-and-forth free-throw shooting parade pushed Clark back out to a 58-52 lead with 38 seconds to play. Za'Khari Cobb sank a good free-throw with 17 seconds on the clock, but the late rally from the Tigers fell short as Clark Atlanta sealed up the 63-53 victory.

The Tigers fall to 9-12 on the season and 6-8 in SIAC play as they head into the final three games of the regular season before the Feb. 28-March 4, 2022 SIAC Championship in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
