Lady Tigers Close SIAC Crossover With A Win And Two Losses

EMERSON, Ga. – Savannah State picked up a key win against Miles College, but dropped two matches to Spring Hill and LeMoyne-Owen in the 2021 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Crossover.

Savannah State's match against Miles College went completely in the Lady Tigers' favor. In the first set, SSU started out strong but the Lady Bears began to push back.

Despite their efforts, Savannah State was able to close out the first set with a 25-17 win. They then capitalized on the momentum and put away Miles College in two hard-fought sets, winning 25-20 and 25-20.

Savannah State put up a fight but was overwhelmed by the defending SIAC Champions Spring Hill, losing the match 0-3. The Lady Tigers also fell to the Lady Magicians 1-3 with Imani Williamson posting a game high 14 kills.

Savannah State's Lady Tigers were able to finish the SIAC Crossover 3-4, which gives them an overall record of 6-7 and a conference record of 4-5.
The Lady Tigers return to action in Columbia, S.C. on Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. with a non-conference match against SIAC provisional team Allen University.
