Lady Tigers Beat Tuskegee, Fall to Central State and Kentucky State In Crossover

EMERSON, Ga. – Into the second day of the 2021 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Crossover tournament, Savannah State picked up one big win over Tuskegee and dropped two matches to Kentucky State and Central State. 
 
The SIAC Crossover pits the SIAC East Division teams against West Division teams in the only regular season matchups between the teams.
In the final game of Saturday's three matches for Savannah State, the Lady Tigers faced off against Tuskegee University and were able to rally back to win one of the three matches played.

Tuskegee put up a huge put up a fight in the first set, but Savannah State was able to squeeze out a 25-21 win. Savannah State carried the momentum into the final two sets which they dominated, 25-12 and 25-15.

Senior Jedaiah Daniels and freshman Destinee Langston led the Lady Tigers with seven kills each. Jeilynn Brown recorded five service aces and Imani Cook led on defense with four blocks.

The Lady Tigers fought hard against the Kentucky State Thorobreds to open Saturday, with both the first and second sets ending with a score of 25-22. Savannah State fell in the third set 25-12, to drop the match.  The Lady Tigers' second match of the day, against Central State, also resulted in a 0-3 loss.
