Tennis Tigers Drop Match To Georgia College

Savannah, Ga. – Coming off a win in their home opener, the Savannah State Lady Tigers fell to Georgia College 1-6 on the Tiger Tennis Courts on March 12.

In singles action at the first position, Venus Ubiebi fell short to Emilia Richter in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, Caitlyn Schultz was defeated by Kim Yatribi in sets at the second position. Bria Bembery also fell short to Emma Fleming in third position. Sarah Joachim fell short in her match to Jordan Bowie in set. Senior Maiya Broughton had also fell short in her match in the fourth court to Ashton Morrison.

In doubles action, Ubiebi and Schultz fell to Richter and Fleming in a 6-2 loss. On the second court Bembery and Joachim also loss to Bowie and Yatribi ending in an 6-0 defeat to Georgia College.

Savannah State falls to 1-3 on the year. They face Georgia Southern next. First serve for the March 17 match on the Tiger Tennis Courts is set for 2 p.m.
