SAVANNAH, Ga.—Savannah State men's basketball will finish off the early non-conference schedule today against Clayton State before a run of four Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) games.

The Tigers enter this afternoon's contest off their first win of the season. They beat NCAA Division II rival Claflin University 68-51 on Nov. 27 following a string of three losses to Saint Leo, Lander and Coastal Georgia.

Savannah State is led in scoring by a trio of veterans. Senior Trey DeLoach is averaging 16.8 points a game while sophomore Marcus Scott is putting up 13.0 points a game. Senior Daryl Richardson is averaging 19.3 points a game and leads on defense with 7.5 rebounds a game.

Clayton State—an NCAA Division II, Peach Belt Conference member—enters Saturday's game sitting at .500 (3-3). Their last set of games was in the Clayton State Classic tri-match just before Thanksgiving where they went 1-1 against SIAC schools—losing 89-94 to Clark Atlanta and beating Tuskegee 78-69.

The Lakers have five top scorers averaging double-digits this season. Ricardo Lynch leads with 15.0 points a game followed by Jalen Shaw (14.8), Ricardo Saams (13.0), Kobie Johnson (10.6) and Brian Coffey (10.3)

The Tiger hit the road for back-to-back conference games following today's home game. They play Kentucky State on Dec. 11 and Central State on Dec. 13. They return home on Dec. 16 to face LeMoyne-Owen College in Tiger Arena.
