ALBANY, Ga. – Savannah State Volleyball fell in three consecutive matches on Thursday in their first appearance at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Crossover Tournament.

The Lady Tigers opened the day with a 0-3 loss to Lane but came to life in their second match against LeMoyne-Owen, winning the third set, but ultimately falling in the final. SSU closed out the day with a tough match against Miles College. After winning the opening set, they dropped two decisively. In the fourth set, a kill from De'Antoine Rodriguez gave SSU a 25-24 lead.

Rodriguez notched another kill moments later to tie the set at 26. But Miles College fire back as Briana Brown landed another kill. An attack error from Rodriguez handed Miles College the final win.

SSU continues in the SIAC Crossover on Friday with three matches. They open the day against Tuskegee University at 8 a.m. and follow that with a noon match against Central State University and a 4 p.m. match against Spring Hill College. They close the tournament on Saturday with a 10 a.m. match against Kentucky State.
