SAVANNAH, GA. ā Coming off a four-game Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) swing, where the Lady Tigers went 3-1, Savannah State volleyball returns to home court Friday with a non-conference matchup against the Middle Georgia State Knights.
Savannah State is preparing for the final stretch of the regular season. They will play two more non-conference road games against Brewton-Parker and Middle Georgia State, and one SIAC road game against Paine College, before returning home on Nov. 12 to face SIAC foe Clark Atlanta. They close the regular season with a conference road match against SIAC East Division leader Albany State.
The Lady Tigers are looking to finish strong in their first SIAC year heading into the Nov. 18 SIAC Volleyball Championship in Rock Hill, South Carolina. They are currently ranked third in the SIAC East Division behind Paine and Albany State.
On offense, Savannah State is led by
Jeilynn Brown (164 kills) and
Imani Williamson (160 kills). Setter
Valeria Aldarondo leads the team on assists this season with 448. Aldarondo and
Jedaiah Daniels lead on defense with 131 and 143 digs, respectively. Senior
Jamese Scott has been a force at the net this year, leading the Lady Tigers in blocks with 47.
