SAVANNAH, Ga.- South Carolina State defeated Savannah State in three sets in a volleyball game played at Tiger Arena.

The Bulldogs won 25-20, 25-13, 25-23 as they improved their record to 1-13.

In the first set, SSU led 10-5 before the Bulldogs mounted a comeback to tie the set at 11-11. With the contest knotted at 17 apiece, SCSU scored four straight points to go ahead 21-17.

Savannah State got within 21-19 but could get no closer.

In the second set, the score was 6-6 but the Bulldogs pulled way with six straight points.

The third set was a close one. SSU led 22-20 before faltering down the stretch.

After three sets,
Oneillia Fuller had seven kills for Savannah State (1-12) while Salma Gonzalez had nine assists.
Gabrielle Wells and Leiri Melendez added five digs apiece.

For South Carolina State, T'Meyah Burgess and Kyra Marshall had 12 assists apiece. Marshall also had 10 digs while Erin Hundley chipped in nine kills.
