Jalen Atterbury hit a three run home run but Savannah State would fall to Florida A&M 8-5, in a game played at Moore-Kittles Field.
It was the Tigers fourth game of a five game road trip.
FAMU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
In the top of the third, Savannah State (5-25, 2-12 MEAC) scored four times off of three hits.
Mason Calloway singled up the middle and
Freddie Landers was hit by a pitch. After
Kyle Gerdts popped up to the first baseman,
Bryce Luken singled through the right side of the infield which allowed Calloway to score. Atterbury was the next batter and he hit a home run down the left field line that brought home Landers and Luken for a 4-1 lead.
Brian Davis hit a solo home run for the Rattlers in the bottom half of the inning to slice the SSU lead to 4-2.
Landers hit a double in the fifth inning and scored on a single by Luken to increase the Tigers lead to 5-2.
Florida A&M added four runs in the seventh inning to take a 6-5 lead and scored twice more in the eighth for a 8-5 advantage.
Atterbury had two hits and drove in three runs for SSU while Luken had two hits and drove in two runs and Landers had two hits and scored twice.
David Sharp was tagged with the loss. Sharp pitched two-thirds of an inning and surrendered three hits and two runs while striking out one.
The Tigers ended the game with seven hits, three errors while leaving seven runners on base.
Davis paced FAMU with three hots, two runs and two RBI while Jamie Grant was the winning pitcher. Grant pitched four hit-less innings while issuing one walk and striking out one.
Florida A&MÂ (19-22, 12-5 MEAC)Â left nine men on base and made two errors while collecting 12 hits.
