SSU Releases 2018 Football Schedule

SAVANNAH, Ga.- Five home games at Theodore Wright Stadium will highlight the 2018 Savannah State University football schedule.
 
As part of their 11-game schedule, SSU will play seven Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) contests and four non-conference games.
 
The Tigers will open the season at Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents University of Alabama-Birmingham (August 30) and the University of Miami (September 8). Road games at Howard University (Sept. 15) and Florida A&M University (Sept. 22) will be followed by a four-game home-stand with Bethune-Cookman University (Sept. 29), then Charleston Southern University (October 6), Morgan State University (Oct. 13) and Norfolk State University (Oct. 27). SSU has a bye on Oct. 20.
 
The Howard game will not be a conference game and Norfolk State will be Homecoming.
 
Savannah State will travel to Delaware State University (November 3) before hosting their final home game of the season against North Carolina A&T University (Nov. 10). The Tigers wrap up the 2018 season at South Carolina State University (Nov. 17).
 
SSU's home games with Bethune-Cookman, Charleston Southern and Morgan State games will start at 6 p.m., the Norfolk State game will start at 3 p.m. and the North Carolina A&T contest will start at 1 p.m.
 
SSU won three games during the 2017 season with victories over Norfolk State, Delaware State and South Carolina State.
