Women’s Tennis Hosts FAMU For Senior Day

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State University women's tennis (3-13, 1-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) hosts Florida A&M University (2-13, 2-1 MEAC) for Senior Day and the home finale Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Tiger Tennis Courts.
 
This will be the final of five consecutive matches against MEAC schools as the Lady Tigers won the first conference match last time out with a 5-2 win against North Carolina Central University.
 
The lone senior on the team, Rachida El Kateb has posted a 3-3 record in her last six singles matches, including a 6-0, 6-0 against Lauren Mullis of NCCU last time out and is 5-1 in her last six doubles matchese= with freshman Sofia Shut'ko

Freshman Shakendra Alston has gone 4-2 in her last six matches and has posted a 4-2 record in doubles with freshman Ekaterina Vorobeva
 
Junior Sansriti Ranjan is 2-1 in the last three singles matches, including a 6-4, 6-1 win against Sofia Miller against NCCU last time out, while her sister Muskaan Ranjan defeated Polina Sakharova 6-3, 6-1 of the Eagles last time out.
 
The Lady Tigers finish the regular season with two matches against University of Missouri Saturday starting at 4 p.m. in Athens, Ga.
