Savannah, Ga. -- 
· The Tigers look to extend their winning streak when they face Morgan St. on Saturday in Tiger Arena. Morgan St. is the only conference opponent to defeat the Tigers this season.
 
Game Notes:
Tiger Bites
· SSU's win against S.C. State matched last year's longest win streak of seven.  The Tiger's longest win streak since entering the MEAC is 13 games. SSU won 13 straight to end the 2011-12 season enroute to winning the MEAC regular season championship.

· SSU is currently tied for 1st with N.C. A&T in the MEAC standings with a 8-1 record. N.C. Central, Bethune-Cookman and Norfolk St. are tied for the third place spot.

· SSU leads the nation in total 3-pointers made with 294, 3-pointers per game averaging 12.3 and three point attempts with 969. The Tigers are in the top 10 nationally in: steals per game (6th) averaging 9.4; total steals (7th) with 225; turnover margin (10th) at 4.5 and turnovers forced (3rd) averaging 18.21.

#1 IN THE MEAC
The Savannah State Tigers rank #1 in the MEAC in 11 statistical categories. The Tigers lead the conference in: 3-pt field goals attempted (969), assist turnover ratio (1.13), assist per game (15.5); scoring offense (85.1), steals per game (9.4), 3-pt field goals per game (12.3), total 3-pointers made (294), total assists (373), total steals (225), turnover margin (4.5), and turnovers forced (18.21).
 
MEAC DEAN OF COACHES
Horace Broadnax is the Dean of MEAC basketball coaches. He is in his 12th year at the helm of the SSU program
 
MOVING BACK DOWN
In April 2017, the Savannah State administration made the decision to move SSU athletics from Division I to Division II. The move will become effective following the 2018-19 season.

MCCLANAHAN LEADING SSU
Dexter McClanahan is 8th in the conference in three-point field goals made with 54 and is averaging 2.3 made threes per game. McClanahan is also 8th in the conference in scoring averaging 15.8 ppg.
 
TOUGH SCHEDULE
SSU's non-conference schedule features six teams that are ranked in the AP Top 25 poll (Michigan State, Wichita State, Cincinnati, Baylor, Texas Tech and Texas A&M)
 
CONFERENCE CLASH—SSU will play teams from 11 different Division I conferences (MEAC, American, Southern, Sun Belt, Ohio Valley, SWAC, Big 12, Colonial, Southeastern, Atlantic Coast and Big 10
 
SIGHT SEEING—SSU will play games in 12 different states this season (Ohio, Louisiana, Tennessee, Texas, Kansas, Georgia, Virginia, Michigan, Maryland, Delaware, Florida and South Carolina).
