SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah State women's tennis team begins the 2018 spring season with the home opener against College of Charleston Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Tiger Tennis Courts to begin a three-match homestand.
In her second season at the helm at SSU, head coach Carolina Laniez has a new team this season. With three seniors on the squad last year, the Lady Tigers return only one student-athlete, senior
Rachida El Kateb, and welcomes five newcomers.
The only transfer is junior
Sansriti Ranjan, who came from Niagara University. The four freshmen are
Shakendra Alston, from Rock Hill, S.C.,
Muskaan Ranjan from Bangalore, India,
Sofia Shut'ko from Kiev, Ukraine and
Ekaterina Vorobeva from Naberezhnye, Russia.
The Lady Tigers continue the homestand with Wofford College Saturday at 2 p.m. and concludes with Georgia Southern University Tuesday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m.
